Sylvia and Bubba posing for Mommy

Sylvia was playing with "Bubba" the white fuzzy bear and was being so absolutely cute I just had to grab my camera. These photos are on the Picasa site if you want any copies.

pretty hats

Sylvia has acquired quite the collection of hats, and loves wearing them all....sometimes all at once!

My silly Sylvia:

Here comes froggy!

Pull toys and wobbly legs are a dangerous combination, but just as Sylvia became barely steady enough to cross the room she decided that dragging her froggy toy and her new puppy toy were her favorite activities. This video was from May 21st, and she was really sweet because she kept sneaking around the camera to give Mommy kisses.

Finn's new updates

Below is the latest update on Finn and a few photos from his site. I created a link to his care page on the right side of this site if you want to check it out for yourself.
"Let's celebrate! Last night at weigh-in I tipped the scales at 2 lbs 0.5 oz. I have been receiving oxygen through a nasal cannula for the last few days -- no more annoying CPAP -- and I'm up to 10 mL of breastmilk every 3 hours. Check back in a few days to see how I'm doing."

The photo to the left is the result of an attempted diaper change :)

our rolling, running, tumbling tot

This was the first week at tumbling tots that Sylvia could walk well enough to go wherever she wanted effectively. She barely slowed down, bouncing from hula hoops and balls to tunnels and slides. She is willing to do forward rolls without screaming, which is a huge improvement over the first week, and can "log roll" all by herself. Only one more class left!

Happy Birthday Finn Keoni McDonough

Sylvia wanted to send love and kisses to her new play-mate, who arrived at 1:28 on Sunday, May 18th, weighing 1 lb 13 oz. We can't wait to meet you, and in the meantime, tell your mom and dad to send some pictures our way!

Cheering for "Neigh-neigh's" and afraid of puppies

On Saturday, Sylvia and I went to visit Barb down at the hospital. Sylvia watched the "Neigh-neigh's" race on TV and spent a lot of time pacing back and forth in the hospital room, showing off her new walking skills. She got Barb to read her a few books before we had to leave and then slept the whole way home.
Sunday, we went out to breakfast and then stopped by to see the new puppy: Pepsi / Lucy / Ruby / Suzie... Sylvia was terrified, but by the end she was willing to kiss the sleeping puppy's head, which she followed with a swift slap. We'll have to work on the "be nice to animals" concept.

Friday Night CPK

Friday night the Lobel's and the Marchiori's came to visit, and they brought our favorite - California Pizza Kitchen. We caught up with Alan and Marian and tried to help Gabe and Laura with house decisions. And as always, Sylvia had fun hanging out with her guy friends.

thank goodness for teletubbies

The only thing worse than watching teletubbies is watching the same teletubbies episode that I saw yesterday while taping it for Sylvia. I officially have a love / hate relationship with those teletubbies. It is so incredibly repetitive, but Sylvie loves it (proof in two videos below). Believe it or not, she was absolutely hysterical after waking up from a nap just seconds before the first video below. She was inconsolable - if this show can bring a smile through the tears, it can't be so bad now and then.

A short video...

A longer video....

Mother's Day at Green Lane Park

Brock loved flying down the sliding boards, throwing rocks in the water, walking a puppy, and anything to do with Uncle John's "Monster Pick-up Truck". Sylvie-baby preferred picking the flowers (and weeds), swinging on the little swings, and walking anywhere we let her. Happy Mother's Day!!

love to GG

After we talked to Great-Grandma on the phone, Sylvia decided she wanted to keep on talking.

special smiles

Sylvia has many smiles, but there is a special one that she saves for the bus-boy at the Country Kitchen diner, the little twin boys at the ice-cream dairy, and for little Tommy Baker:

...laughing at his jokes and trying to hold his hand...she's mastered the art of flirting already.
We are in so much trouble.

hmm...Mommy's shoes didn't quite fit. Maybe Daddy's would fit better....

TAKE ONE: no walking

Sylvia is getting very good at saying "no".

TAKE TWO: I'd rather dance

Sylvia dances to commercials, the songs her toys make, and especially, Frank Sinatra radio :)

TAKE THREE (and beyond): She's got it now!

Look out world, here she comes!
